Your Safety at Twin Oaks Camping

You are coming to stay on a countryside smallholding, which has its own natural hazards, including water (ie ponds / river side) and an array of wildlife that you need to be mindful of. Uneven ground, long grass, limited lighting, mud, dust, wildlife and insects, including ticks may all cause problems at certain times of the year.

Your stay will be enhanced if you bring suitable clothing and footwear to allow for the changeability of the British weather.

Some of the guest equipment, including the BBQs, and wood/firepits may cause injury if misused. Please ensure you read the operating instructions carefully before using, and ask for help if unsure. Any visiting children must be supervised at all times.

Our hot tub is wood fired.  The wood is located in ‘The Pole Barn’ opposite the container. Please be respectful of the amount of logs you use, to ensure we don’t need to request guests pay for logs, as many sites do.

To heat the water, first light the newspaper & kindling with the matches found in the kitchen. Add two or three smaller logs and get them burning for 10 minutes, then add a further four logs and leave for 30 minutes, with the vent on the top of the fire box open about 2-3cm.  After 30 minutes check the fire box and add a further 2-4 logs.  Leave for a further 30 minutes and check the temperature.  Once it has reached 40 degrees the hot tub is ready to use.

Do not add any further logs at this point or the water will overheat and be too hot to use. Always test the temperature of the water before entering to ensure it is suitable for you.

Do not allow the water to go below the indicated line, near the fire basket.

DO NOT EMPTY THE WATER FROM THE HOT TUB. THIS MUST ONLY BE DONE WHEN THE FIRE IS OUT AND STONE COLD, OTHERWISE THE FIRE BASKET WILL WARP AND BE RUINED & GUESTS WILL INCURE A REPLACEMENT CHARGE.

When enjoying the outside facilities, please respect our human and animal neighbours and keep noise to a minimum after 10pm.

By booking and coming to Twin Oaks Glamping you confirm that you understand the natural hazards of the site and agree to be responsible for yourself, your children and any children you are in charge of and to take all reasonable precautions against personal injury, injury to others and damage to the habitat, facilities and accommodation.

If you are asked to terminate your stay due to abuse of site regulations, inappropriate or unsafe behaviour, no refund will be given.
