During your stay do explore and enjoy our surroundings

Surfing & Train Rides
If coastal adventure is your thing, Ford Farm is just 30 miles from Croyde Bay; the surfing capital of North Devon with its super sandy beach and great breakwaters. On the North Devon Coast, also visit Woolacombe & Illfracombe, both around 50 minutes. Head just 40 minutes West and you are in Cornwall!
Catch the small train at Eggesford Station (just 5 minutes walk) and head in either direction to many small stops from which you can explore the local area on foot.
Walks to enjoy
Head a few miles South West to Dartmoor National Park. Take in its craggy landscape, defined by forests, rivers, wetlands and tors (rock formations) and enjoy watching the wonderful Dartmoor ponies that roam freely on the parkland.
Alternatively, head North East to the beautiful Exmoor National Park and walk the hilly open moorland and deep wooded valleys. Take in the stunning remote countryside with scenic drives to ancient villages and hamlets.
Explore the famous Tarka Trail; a series of footpaths & cyclepaths around Mid/North Devon, that follow the route taken by the fictional ‘Tarka The Otter’ in the book of that name.

And if that all sounds too energetic...
…just chill out at our beautiful site, exploring the small woodland and the old farm orchard which we are complementary planting to bring back to its former glory.Read, relax and watch the birds and wildlife, whilst enjoying the sounds of the choo choo train that passes once in a while and the babbling River Taw which adjoins the site.
